Google wants more control over how I use their services. I want less.

Youtube VPN Detected

With advertisements, double ads and a lot of distractions along with Youtube shorts, Youtube experience is unbearable. I have been using Youtube for a long time and made sense for me to pay for Youtube Premium. I was happy to pay for it, as I use youtube music as well.

Like everything, Google is now trying to control how I use their services. I have been using Youtube (or rather everything on the web) on my devices with a VPN for a long time.

Even aftere paying for Youtube Premium, I am getting a notification that I need to turn off my VPN to use Youtube which is absolutely ridiculous. Why should I turn off my VPN to use Youtube? I am paying for the service and I should be able to use it the way I want. Why should I be forced to turn off my VPN just because Google wants to track my location? Why do you need to track my location in the first place to see what I am watching and from where am I watching?

My location should not matter to Google. I am paying for the service and I should be able to use it with a VPN or not without a VPN.

But probably, like everything else, this might be in paragraph 3 of page 45 of the terms and conditions that no one reads and I have agreed to it so I have to live with it and it is entirely my fault and they are not to be blamed. Right?

Let’s see how strict they are with this. But I AM NOT TURNING OFF MY VPN. I will not be forced to do something that I don’t want to do.

If not, I will cancel my subscription.
